Here’s an incredibly powerful song about Eliza’s reaction to not only her husband’s infidelity, but the incredibly public way he exposed it. (Speaking of powerful, you should also check out Andra Day’s stunning cover of the song on the Hamilton Mixtape.)

The irony is that while Eliza did burn her side of their correspondence at some point in her life (though likely not right after publication of the Reynold’s pamphlet) she worked obsessively for 50 years after his death to collect and publish all of Hamilton’s writing and promote his legacy.
